Meet Dr. Susan Blair

Dr. Susan Blair was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and received her bachelor’s degree in physiology and art history from Oklahoma State University. During her undergraduate studies, she spent a summer in Mumbai, India, for pre-medical training and, by chance, shadowed a local dentist, which first sparked her interest in the field. She also rotated through a cleft lip and palate hospital and, by the end of the summer, knew she wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Blair attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry with a solid clinical dentistry program. She was fortunate to develop mentorships in the pediatric dentistry and orthodontics departments early in her dental training.

Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Blair was thrilled to be accepted into a pediatric dentistry residency in the Bronx, New York, at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she had exposure to patients worldwide. At Montefiore, Dr. Blair interacted closely with her colleagues in the medical community, being a part of the Craniofacial Center. This further motivated Dr. Blair to apply to orthodontic residency programs. She used it all over the country but loved Montefiore and New York City. She was fortunate to be matched at her top choice, Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, for three more years to obtain her orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics certificate. This is also where she met her husband, a native of Glen Ellyn, IL.

Dr. Blair is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Being dual-trained is a scarce distinction. She is excited to bring her expertise to the families in Lombard and the surrounding communities providing pediatric dental care and orthodontics!

Outside the office, Dr. Blair loves spending time with her husband, four-year-old son, and their friends. She is also a huge animal lover and has been involved with humane societies for many years, fostering, promoting adoption, and animal welfare. She stays involved with local shelters and supports two international animal rescue organizations. Be sure to ask her about her pets!
